Films: The Sentinel (1977)
Alias: Various
Type: Mystical
Location: Haunted home
Height/Weight: That of average humans.
Affiliation: Evil
Summary: We often think the gateway to Hell is somewhere underground, in a temple, the White House, whatever. But no, it's in an apartment building. And there needs to be someone for upkeep.
History: A very specific Brooklyn brownstone house has a dark secret. The way to Hell lies there, and visitors who have sinned have the potential to become a Sentinel for salvation. The Sentinel must guard Hell for the rest of his/her natural life, and the current one, excommunicated Catholic Father Halliran, is running out of time to live. Better get that neurotic visitor on the line!
Notable Kills: Nothing special.
Final Fate: The demons chase down the visitor, but Father and his compatriots convince her not to commit suicide, and put her in the role of Sentinel. Good or bad thing? You decide.
Powers/Abilities: None.
Weakness: Anything conventional.
Scariness Factor: 4-There's a lot of demons here, and they're all horribly ugly! They look like poor fellas being infected with elephant man syndrome, but minus any of the humanity!
Trivia: -As indicated by the bio title, this film was shot on location in Brooklyn Heights.
-Excommunication refers to restricting and suspending one's right to practicing religion.
